Nebraska senators announce priority bills

In the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature, a bill that has priority status is generally considered ahead of other bills in debate. Each senator may select one priority bill, each committee may select two priority bills, and the speaker may select up to 25 priority bills.

Priority bills that LWVNE has taken a position on include:

  • LB77 (Brewer) Permitless carry – OPPOSE
  • LB195 (Halloran) Faithful delegate to federal Article V Convention – OPPOSE
  • LB294 (Conrad) Child Tax Credit – SUPPORT
  • LB574 (Kauth) Let Them Grow Act – OPPOSE
  • LB626 (Albrecht) Heartbeat Act – OPPOSE
  • LB753 (Linehan) Adopt the Opportunity Scholarships Act and provide tax credits – OPPOSE 

The final day to designate a priority bill is March 9, 2023.
