The League of Women Voters U.S. advocacy and litigation department is proud to present its finalized Legislative Priorities Guidance document to state and local Leagues. The 2021 Legislative Priorities Guidance provides valuable information on the League’s anticipated priorities for 2021 state and local legislative sessions across the country.
Using input the LWVUS received from League leaders during its August policy webinar on legislative priorities and additional information from previous legislative surveys, LWVUS has created this document to help local and state Leagues frame their work for next year.
This updated guidance to state and local Leagues recommends legislative priorities under the Making Democracy Work® and People Powered Fair Maps® campaigns and in other urgent issue areas. These recommendations allow for a strong unified “voice” at all levels of League across the country.
LWVUS wants to continue offering support to Leagues lobbying on these issues. Local Leagues should adopt these suggestions as they make decisions about their priorities within their communities.
