The League of Women Voters of Nebraska will hold its annual Legislative Day on Thursday, Feb. 13, at the State Capitol in Lincoln from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Registration is open at this link. Everyone who registers for Legislative Day will receive a link to attend an optional virtual training session on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9-10:30 a.m. “Attendance in the training session is highly encouraged but not required,” said Rachel Gibson, action vice president of the LWVNE who will lead the session and coordinates Legislative Day. “A recorded version will available after the event,” she said.

As in previous years, Legislative Day participants will spend the morning meeting with state senators to advocate for some of the LWVNE’s priority bills. Participants will then gather for conversations over a complimentary lunch of salad and sandwiches catered by The Green Gateau.

Participants who can stay after lunch will wrap up the day by sitting in on a committee hearing in the afternoon. Here are the current bill hearings scheduled for that afternoon. A more detailed agenda will be available closer to the day.
