The LWVNE recently presented a two-part free, virtual, non-partisan campaign training program — “Represent! Running for Political Office in Nebraska” — on Feb. 5 and Feb. 12.
A goal of the program was to increase the number of under-represented groups — including women and people of color — in political office. It was open to anyone who wanted to learn more about political campaigns in Nebraska.
Both sessions were recorded and are available for viewing. The LWVNE hopes that the virtual sessions as well as these recordings will encourage people to consider running for elected office or working on a political campaign in Nebraska.
LWVNE Campaign School Part I. The first virtual session discusses how to file/run for office and campaign messaging. It also features a panel of people of color who have run for political office in Nebraska sharing their experiences.
LWVNE Campaign School, Part II. The second virtual session discusses fundraising; getting out the vote and other campaign strategies; and recruiting, training and managing volunteers.
