Every bill introduced in the Unicameral is given a hearing before a legislative committee. This allows the second house, the people of Nebraska, to weigh in on legislation.

To view the hearing schedule, go to the legislative calendar and click on hearings to view the daily schedule of hearings.

Nebraskans can either testify in person on a bill or submit comments to the committee by 8 a.m. on the day of the hearing.

If you are submitting comments, click on the submit comments button; affirm you understand the rules for submitting comments; make sure you check that you are submitting comments as a proponent, opponent or in a neutral capacity; and indicate your legislative district. Then enter your comment (500 word limit) and hit submit.

Don’t forget to go immediately into your email and confirm your submission or it will not be accepted.

You can also submit accommodation testimony and it will be considered the same as in person testimony before the committee. You must confirm your ADA status in order to complete the form.
